DevOps engineer

Advanced Encryption Technology (AET) Europe uses cutting edge technology to create solutions for secure authentication, authorization and information exchange. Our products are used to secure information for government, healthcare and private companies all over the world. Currently AET is expanding into new markets and therefore our development department is hiring new eager team members.
Your opportunity as a DevOps engineer
By joining our development department, which is located in Amsterdam (NL) and Arnhem (NL), you will be part of our agile software development teams. Within this teams you will be working closely with product owners and your team members, by using the SCRUM methodology.
You are a skilled DevOps engineer, with a strong background in cloud-based infrastructure and a deep understanding of containerization technologies, specifically Kubernetes, Kustomize, and Helm. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and improve the company’s deployment process from the ground up and you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of our microservice-based architecture, including the deployment and management of our Kubernetes clusters. You will also be responsible for automating our build and release processes, as well as monitoring the health and performance of our systems. Specific responsibilities as a DevOps engineer:
- Deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters
- Managing and deploying microservices using Helm charts
- Setting up CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and release process using tools such as Bitbucket/Bamboo
- Managing cloud platforms such as Azure
- Monitoring and troubleshooting issues in production environments
- Working closely with developers to design and implement efficient and scalable infrastructure
- Collaborating with the rest of the development team to continuously improve processes and tools
- Providing guidance and mentorship to the rest of the team on best practices in DevOps
Your profile
As a DevOps engineer you are dedicated (like us) to information security. It is in your nature to take responsibility and ownership, and you enjoy working within a team on innovative products. You have a deep understanding of Kubernetes and related technologies, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of experience in DevOps is required. We are looking for someone who is passionate about staying up to date with
the latest developments in DevOps and is excited to bring new ideas and technologies to the team. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented and driven team and will be able to make a significant impact on the direction and success of the company. You are pro-active with great communication skills.
Currently we are looking for candidates at medior and senior level.
Qualities:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT
- Three years of DevOps experience
- Experienced in cloud bases infrastructures
- Experienced in setting up CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of Kubernetes, Kustomize and Helm
- Experienced with the Atlassian toolchain
- Understanding of agile software development
- Have knowledge about cryptography and/or public key infrastructure (optional)
- Have knowledge about middleware (PKCS#11, Minidriver, etc.) and/or smart cards (ISO7816, PKCS#15) (optional)
Soft skills:
- Strong analytical skills and technical understanding
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal
- The ability to work in a team
- Strong security awareness
- Listening and providing constructive feedback and advice
